Shinchoku is the revelation of the God, Amaterasu-Ohmikami (The sun goddess). It is described in "Nihon Shoki", the oldest history book in Japan written before the Creation of the country, that Amatetasu-Ohmikami mandated, "Help the successive emperor of Japan and be delighted by them." to the Munakata no kami, the God of Munakata. Three goddesses enshrined in Munakata taisha are the closest goddesses to the Chinese continent and Korean peninsula. It is described that they come down to the region, Munakata, which was important as a port of trading and for importing culture.
